Tin Cup

 

   The Tin Cup Series is a way for the DRMGA to reward players for participating in and playing well in the various DRMGA events scheduled throughout the year.

  Players participating in a DRMGA event will be awarded points based on event placement.  Placement points are awarded based on the number of participants in the event.  Additionally, all participants will be awarded 2 participation points. 

   Points are also awarded for Closest to the Pin, DRMGA Board Participation, and volunteering for the LPGA Tournament at Kingsmill.  

  A player may also accrue points by participating in the monthly Putting Tournaments.  A player will be awarded 2 participation points for each one they participate in.

   At the end of the year, the total number of points awarded will be divided into the total dollar amount available, establishing a monetary value for each point.  This amount will then be multiplied by the total number of points awarded to a player during the season, establishing an end of year payout. 

Since the purpose of the Tin Cup Series is to promote player participation, a player must play in 10 DRMGA event rounds to qualify for an end of year payout.  Participation in the monthly putting tournaments does not count towards the 10 round minimum.  Tin Cup Series awards will be presented at the Annual Banquet.

Please note that due to the increased payouts, gift cards will not be handed out at the banquet.  Gift cards for spouses and putting tournament awards will still be handed out at the banquet.
